Diabetic/Non-Healing Wound Care

  • Traditional Methods Often Fail

Traditionally, diabetic/non-healing wounds have been difficult and sometimes impossible to heal completely.  Because of the concomitant peripheral perfusion deficiencies that occur with diabetes, wounds may not receive the blood flow necessary to carry the requisite growth factors, white cells, and oxygen needed for proper and efficient healing of these wounds.

  • Successful Results with Platelet-Rich Plasma

Utilizing a process known as Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy, we can harness the healing properties of the patient's own blood in a concentrated and physician-directed fashion. Diabetic wounds which have been previously unresponsive to traditional therapies such as hyperbaric treatment, ordinary wound dressings, and manufactured single growth factor applications are often healed quickly with platelet-rich plasma.
